I first heard about the Airhawk from double Guinness World Record holders Kevin and Julia Sanders.

I had the good fortune of knowing them before they started on the world records as I worked weekends at Kevin's motorcycle training school.

The story of their records is well documented and they often described the Airhawk as their 'secret weapon' - how else do you ride 1,000 miles a day for 19 consecutive days?

It also became my 'secret weapon' when my father decided at the tender age of 70 that he wanted to ride with me to the very tip of the Arctic - Nordkapp. He set off from Italy, and I left from the UK and we met up in Norway. I'd bought him an Airhawk for his K100 and two more for my R1150GS so that my wife and I could also enjoy the comfort.

I covered 6,000 miles in three weeks before I had to go back to work, however my father managed a further 3,000. Being self-employed he found his boss to be more understanding than mine was!

My Airhawk is now entering its fifth year of service. In that time I've managed 50,000 comfortable miles. I've taken it to the Arctic and have crossed the Sahara twice as well as the more usual European trips and have just completed 8,500 miles through Africa with it.

Not only do I ride with it, but I also take my panniers off and place the Airhawk on top to act as a camping seat.

As with all the very best bits of kit for the bike, the Airhawk has been virtually maintenance free (I've only adjusted the pressure in it once or twice) and has never let me down.

I can't recommend the system strongly enough and wouldn't even consider a long trip without my Airhawk seat.

All I have to say is "Damn". This cushion is the way to go for long trips. Last summer I took a trip back East. I was in the saddle for about 15 hours and never had a bit of trouble, in fact it was very comfortable. I didn't have a problem with the seat getting hot and sticky during the day time or cold at night. The entire ride covered 3500 miles in about 7 days. I have some friends that I went to see while on the trip and they were impressed with the seat. I look forward to my trip this summer that will cover about 6500 mile and don't believe there will be any problem. It's just what a dude of 63 needs to ride long distances. I tell everyone about the Airhawk and they are amazed by they way it feels. Once you find the right pressure for you, you are set to ride. No more fidgeting in the saddle as I ride, I just set back and enjoy the scenery. It is the best investment I've made to my bike and would do it over again, it's the "BEST". The Buzzard
